Xbox recently launched its Game Pass app on the Fire TV Stick, with the declaration: “You don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox.” Since then, Amazon has introduced a “No Xbox Required” bundle, which includes a controller, Game Pass subscription, and Fire TV Stick: everything you need to play Xbox games at home without the console. But if you already have a controller or Game Pass subscription, there’s still a potentially huge deal available for everyone to take advantage of.

Includes Wi-Fi 6 support.
Fire Sticks are now up to 50% off during the Prime Day sale. The 4K Max Fire Stick is now at its best price of the year, down to just $34.99 – $25 off its original list price of $59.99. It’s a fantastic deal, especially if you’re equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology at home.
This device is an excellent choice for streaming video games, as the improved Wi-Fi chip could prove invaluable in the long run. Regardless, it’s a great streaming device, even if you only use it to watch Netflix. The next best deal is the 4K TV Stick, which is now down to just $24.99, down from its suggested retail price of $49.99. The Fire TV Stick Lite is also down to $14.99, and the standard Fire TV Stick is down to $17.99 for Prime members.
The availability of Xbox Gaming on Amazon Fire TV Sticks means people can play games directly from the app via cloud gaming, widening the potential audience for Xbox games and, crucially, the Xbox Game Pass subscription ($25 off at Woot).
All you need is a compatible Fire TV Stick, a Bluetooth-compatible wireless controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to start streaming Xbox games. Microsoft also confirmed the second wave of Xbox Game Pass lineup for this month, but left plenty of room for potential surprises over the rest of the months.
Best Xbox Prime Day Deals
There are, notably, some pretty big discounts across a variety of Xbox products this Prime Day, including a fantastic deal on a refurbished Xbox Series X, as well as sales on controllers and games. Xbox has been in an interesting position of late. Despite owning major game publishers like Bethesda and Activision (maker of Call of Duty!), Microsoft’s hardware has lagged behind both the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Microsoft isn’t complacent, though. It’s making bold moves like enabling Xbox gameplay without the console itself and increasingly focusing on Xbox Game Pass. These deals are definitely worth checking out.

What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime day is a great opportunity to save big on your favorite hobbies, at least in my opinion. The annual summer sale offers discounts on thousands of items, with new lightning deals every hour that you don’t want to miss.
As one of the biggest sales events outside of Black Friday, it attracts a lot of businesses, including companies outside of Amazon, who offer exclusive discounts that are only available on Prime Day. If you’re already a Prime member, you can take part in the sale without much hassle. But there’s also a 30 day free trial if you are curious and just want to take a look at the new discounts.
Prime Day is definitely one of the best times to buy physical video games and while you might not find discounts on major consoles during the sale, there are still plenty of deals to choose from across the Switch, PS5, and Xbox.
