Costco Goes Viral For Selling ‘Apocalypse Bucket’ Of Food That Lasts 25 Years

Cult classic grocery store Costco has caused a stir on social media with its emergency meal kit, dubbed the “apocalypse bucket.”

The Readywise Emergency Food Bucket first went viral on June 30 after cookbook author Jeffrey Eisner posted a video of the massive food kit at his local Costco.

“They have buckets that they just call emergency food supplies… I assume this is for when the apocalypse hits, which could be any time?” Eisner said.

“So you know if the world comes crashing down and falls apart, as long as you have your Readywise Emergency Food Supply, all is well in the world,” he added. “I really want to taste this.”

The food bucket is available for $79.99 and contains 150 freeze-dried and dehydrated meal portions.

According to the official product description, the bucket is a “carefully curated package” that is “more than just food – it’s about preparedness in the face of uncertainty.”

It includes “80 servings of hearty main dishes and sides, 30 servings for filling breakfasts, and another 40 servings for drinks,” making it a must-have tool “for a variety of situations.” Specific meal options include tomato basil soup with pasta, teriyaki rice, chicken-flavored noodle soup, crunchy granola, vanilla pudding, and more.

The Readywise Emergency Food Bucket will last up to 25 years in the store. “It’s not just about survival; it’s about maintaining a sense of normalcy, comfort, and even joy during difficult times,” the product description reads.
