Driver hits truck during San Fernando Valley chase – NBC Los Angeles

The driver of a stolen car grazed a work truck during a chase through streets in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on Tuesday.

No details were immediately available about the car theft.

The driver of the silver Toyota sedan stopped on the street to retrieve what appeared to be a folder of documents from the trunk of the car. She got back behind the wheel and drove away as a police SUV pulled up behind the car.

The driver stopped again after officers retreated and a police helicopter followed the car from above. The driver drove into the Van Nuys neighborhood, where she made a U-turn on a narrow street and then struck a yellow City of Los Angeles work truck.

The driver stopped a few blocks away as officers deployed a spike strip. The folder of documents she was taking from the trunk fell to the ground as the woman crawled out the driver’s side window.

She was taken into custody by the police.
