President Kamala Harris was interrupted by protesters Saturday as she delivered a speech at a campaign rally in Philadelphia aimed at engaging Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders as voters.
As she discussed former President Donald Trump’s remarks, protesters from the audience began shouting, protesting the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza.
According to reporters in the room, the rally was interrupted by protesters, including at least one small group holding a banner. One of them chanted: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

When they tried to continue, the protesters again began chanting, “Free, free Palestine,” prompting their supporters to once again drown out the protests with, “Four more years.”
“We are fighting for democracy and democratic values, which includes the right of everyone to speak,” Harris said, later reiterating: “We have four more years.”
In Gaza todayAt least 90 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike, the Health Ministry said, while Israel said the army had attacked the Hamas army chief.
The Israeli strike took place in Al-Mawasi, which Israel has designated as a safe haven for Palestinians fleeing fighting elsewhere. At least one US-made munition was used in the attack, according to a CNN analysis corroborated by a former US military munitions technician.
