Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets a different frame design for better ergonomics

While the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 have been the center of attention in recent weeks, it might be time to turn our attention to the upcoming Galaxy S25 series as rumors are likely to ramp up in the coming months. One of the top tipsters for all things Samsung suggests that the Ultra could be getting a design overhaul.

In fact, Samsung is rumored to have already finalized the design of all three members of the Galaxy S25 family. The S25 Ultra is said to feature an asymmetrical frame design to improve grip.

The bezel towards the back is said to be more rounded to help with grip, while the front will be straighter. This will also make the bezels appear thinner, although we’re not sure exactly how that would be achieved. The width of the handset will be retained, and the side bezels will be narrower overall.

This is partly consistent with an earlier rumor about a design change in late June.

While this may be a nice design choice, we think the biggest problem when it comes to ergonomics are the S24 Ultra’s sharp corners. They make the device feel much larger than it is, at least when compared to other 6.8-inch smartphones.

Either way, it’s a welcome change and we’re curious to see how the new design will impact ergonomics and ease of use.
