The USA Basketball Showcase continued on Wednesday with the second and final game in Abu Dhabi.
Team USA Basketball defeated Nikola Jokić and Serbia in their third pre-Olympic showcase game on Wednesday afternoon, 105-79. Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry scored 24 points and was 6-for-9 from beyond the arc. Lakers big man Anthony Davis had six blocks to go along with seven points and six rebounds.
The United States entered the game having won each of its first two games, coming off a narrow 98-92 victory over Australia on Monday.
Wednesday’s game also served as a preview of the group stage of the Paris 2024 Olympic basketball tournament. The US and Serbia are both in Group C and will open the group stage against each other again at the Olympics.

When is Team USA next playing basketball?
The United States will take on fellow South Sudan in London for their fourth and penultimate USA Basketball Showcase exhibition game on Saturday, July 20. The game will kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET and will air on FOX.

With three minutes left in the game, the US leads Serbia 99-69.
Curry performs in Abu Dhabi
The 36-year-old point guard is 6/9 from 3-point range and has 24 points against Serbia, the latter giving the US a 95-66 lead.
Anthony Davis dominates the rim
The Lakers star has six blocks with seven minutes left in the game, and he also has seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
Team USA leads Serbia through three quarters
After a second straight strong quarter, the US leads Serbia 83-58 with 10 minutes left.
Anthony Edwards scoops and scores
The young guard stole the ball from Serbia on the defensive wing and ran up court for an easy slam. Everything has worked out for the US so far in the second half.
Bam Adebayo scores 3-pointer
The 26-year-old Miami Heat center was the benefactor of good ball movement from the American offense. As the shot clock expired, Adebayo fired a late shot from the top of the key.
Serbia has reduced its deficit to 18
Before the first media timeout of the second half, Serbia’s shooting warmed up. The team went on a 10-2 scoring run to cut the American lead and make it 73-55 with four minutes left in the third quarter.
Team USA dominates early second half
Missed shots and a strong U.S. defense have limited Serbia to zero points in the three and a half minutes of the third quarter. Meanwhile, the U.S. is on a 12-0 run to start the second half and has extended its lead to 71-45.
United States leads Serbia 59-45 at halftime
The U.S. struggled through the second quarter after a shaky first 10 minutes. A scoring run that began midway through the quarter lifted Team USA to a 14-point halftime lead.
Anthony Davis up to four blocks a day
A big part of Team USA’s scoring run was the strong defense of Lakers big man Anthony Davis, who blocked several shots at the rim during the run. The U.S. leads Serbia, 59-45.
United States extends lead with 13-2 scoring streak
Curry’s four-point play energized the Americans, who added a big run and extended their lead to 53-42 with two minutes left in the second quarter.

The Celtics guard makes his first appearance for the U.S. national team midway through the second quarter.
Curry takes over
Team USA regained the lead on a wide-open 3-pointer by Steph Curry, who kept the scoring going with a drive to the rim for two points and a four-point play on the next two possessions. The USA leads, 44-40.
Curry and James pair up to assist Embiid with an easy shot
The two multiple NBA MVP winners team up with some beautiful passes and find Joel Embiid free under the rim for a quick two points.
Serbia regains leadership
Bad turnovers continued to plague the U.S., allowing Serbia to regain the lead with a pair of 3-pointers to open the third quarter. A hard drive from LeBron James ended an 8-0 run, but Serbia led 34-31.
US – Serbia Tied at 28 After First Quarter
Serbia moved the ball quickly after a few missed shots from Team USA, hitting a buzzer-beating layup to tie the score as the first quarter ended.
Edwards levels US with deep 3
After Team USA moved the ball around to start possession, the ball ended up in the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves star. Edwards hit a 3-pointer from above the key to tie the game at 24 with one minute left in the first quarter.
He followed it up with a steal and drew a foul to get to the line, where he made both free throws. The United States regained the lead, 26-24.
Jokić fires hook shot over two defenders
With two Americans on him, the center passed to Dobrić for an open look beyond the arc. After the missed shot, Jokić took the board and sank a tough shot over the defense. Serbia leads, 22-19.
Dobrić and Petrušev team up for lob and slam
Breaking out after a steal, Serbian small forward Ognjen Dobrić lobbed a pass to center Filip Petrušev, who fired the ball over Anthony Davis to give Serbia an 18-15 lead.
Jokić hears MVP chants at free throw line
The three-time and reigning NBA MVP drew “MVP” chants from the crowd as he made two free throws. Serbia now leads 16-13 at the first media timeout.
Serbia takes lead and extends it
Several miscommunications lead to turnovers by the United States, allowing Serbia to take over and extend the lead with an 8-0 run. Serbia leads Team USA, 14-13, midway through the first quarter.
Steph Curry opens US scoring
After Team USA won the tip, Curry hit a 3-pointer from the left wing to start the scoring for both sides. He hit another one moments later to give the Americans a 7-4 lead with two minutes left in the game.
